SourceTree for Mac crashes every branch change, merge, and push

Experiencing frequent crashes with SourceTree, it's approaching an unusable state with crashes on branch changes, merges, pushes, and occasionally other actions such as commits. It's almost to the point that any these actions will consistently crash the client (although the git action will complete).

Mac: OS X 10.8.5
Source Tree: Version 1.9.6

This also occurs on another Mac running Mavericks.

Recent iterations of Stash for Mac have introduced instability at increasing rates. It's unfortunate, as this product has historically been stable - nothing like issues experienced with the latest 1.9.6.

These usually crash due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException'
