Can I have cards auto archive after 30 days?

I have been using Trello for work, but now have a personal board with friends for books we read. We have a column for book recommendations but we don't want it to get absurdly long. We were thinking that perhaps after 30 days any cards in this list could auto archive to keep our list in control. Can you do this? I checked google and the community boards...and I only found a power up called Card aging, but it doesn't sound like it disappears just fades but stays on your list.

Thanks Jodi, I took a look at the video and article. So it looks like I need to be a little more specific. From the article it looks like I can archive all cards for a time frame within a board. Currently I have one list and the first card describes the purpose of the list so I don't want this card to ever archive. Then the subsequent cards will be posted by different people recommending books, we want to be able to archive each card after 30 days, so that the list is not uncontrollable. So can we set parameters per card vs board?

I did try to go in and learned I think I have too basic of an account as the "Create command" button wouldn't open.

Good to see others are interested in it. I look for to hearing from Devon. I think I can get the team to do the "c" function to archive, and maybe put a due date on each card and when it turns red they know they should archive it...if nothing else works. The key is I don't want the top card to ever get archived as it is like my title.

The work around I used is below, [using the list names -Reading List and -To Archive List as well as a black label (labelled To Archive)

Created Rule:

Everytime a card is added, add label *To Archive (black)*

Then created Calendar command:

choose your own details here, I went with the following:
Trigger; Every 4 weeks on Saturday
Move all the cards more than *30/days* in the list 'Reading List' to list 'To Archive'
Archive all the cards with *To Archive(black) label*

Maybe something along those lines could help here.

Thanks Stefani. What you describe works for what I needed (not the exact same as the OP). I created a "Scheduled Command" (a Calendar command) in Butler: Every Monday, archive all cards more than 21 days in list Done. < Everything I typed in boldface were options when using "Create Command".

Here is one way to do it (with many customisation options):

What I want:

a List from which the Cards are automatically archived after a specified number of days, after I dragged them in there (or created them there).

Parameters:

[a List where Cards are drawn or created that shall be archived]; [Days after which Cards are to be archived from the List];

I labelled them:

["Done"]; [1 weeks {same as 7 days}] (here you can freely insert your parameters while creating the Rules)

Optional:

of course you can add who the Rule applies to on the Board while creating.

What you need:

3 Rules to rule them all
turn on the [Advanced] mode when creating the Rules because these variables are needed

Rules:

when a card is added to list "Done" [by anyone {this for example is optional to you}], set due date in 1 weeks
when a due date is set on a card due today in list "Done", mark the due date as complete
when the due date is marked as complete in a card in list "Done", archive the card

{ ! here it is particularly important to specify the corresponding List, otherwise all Cards on your Board whose due dates are ticked off will be archived ! }

This is how it should look when the Rules have been created in the overview (ignore the order and my label):

Notes:

Be aware that if there was a due date before, this will overwrite it! If it is relevant for your documentation, you should make a note beforehand (or you can surely also write a rule to automate it).

I also use this set of rules in a modified way to move daily or frequent ToDo's from a "Redo" List back to my "TaskBoard" List.
