"Single daily build" trigger with custom variable

Hi all!

We have a plan with a required variable - everyone who runs the plan has to specify it manually using "Run customised..." -> "Override a variable".

Now I want to add two "Single daily build" triggers:

  1. Triggers everyday at 4am with this variable overridden with value "X"

  2. Triggers everyday at 6am with this variable overridden with value "Y"

Is there a way to do it? Seems that triggers don't know anything about variables.

Hi @Anton Egorov

You won't be able to use Bamboo triggers to achieve this, as you already know.

What you can do instead is to configure your server cron or even create a special plan in Bamboo that will serve as your cron to call the following REST API:

curl --user <USER>:<PASSWORD> --data "bamboo.variable=value" -X POST <BAMBOO-URL>/rest/api/latest/queue/<PLAN-KEY>

Using this endpoint you are able to start a build with the specified variable you want.

In case you want to create a special build in Bamboo for that, then you will need to create a script task to check the time and decide whether the variable to be passed is X or Y.
