'git status' failed with code 129: Unknown option: -c

Question

My SourceTree shows 1.7.0.4 but command prompt (WIN7) shows git version 1.9.4.msysgit.2

I see below errors when cloning or adding repositories.

Please help!!!

Updating embedded Git from 2.20.x -> 2.24.1 fixed it for me

Try switching SourceTree to use the System Git or update the embedded Git (both in Tools\Options\Git). (It is probably using the embedded 1.7.0.4, which is pretty old.)
