Welcome Wednesday: How are you planning to cool off?

Wednesday.gif

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

We are approaching to hottest point in the summer. So I wanted to ask you this week, how you are managing to stay cool? Are you taking a dip in the pool? Hiding next to the fan/air conditioning? Or are you cracking open a cold one?

For myself, as we continue to go to the market, one of my favorite finds as been the stands for the local breweries. They are all producing and selling small batches of very unique flavors.

I love getting one can of each different flavor and having the opportunity to experience a number of different varieties. Additionally I will use this while I’m cooking and it’s great to have that serve multiple purposes.

Let me know how you are managing to beat the heat in the comments below.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

I guess if you don`t have a pool or an AC (which isn`t quite common here in Germany), the only things you can do are to have a cool drink, an ice cream or cool yourself down using the garden hose ;-)

There is a small cafe in our town that sells the most amazing pink iced tea (not lemonade) during the summer. It's a bit on the expensive side, but worth treating my wife and myself once a week. We look forward to sitting on the front porch on a hot summer morning sipping on our 32oz cups of pink heaven.

Your post did make me realize that I have not yet had a summer ale, so I'll be headed to the store some time this week to pick up a six pack and will think of you while enjoying one @Jimmy Seddon

The least thing I wanna do on a hot summer day is going for a walk to get a drink somewhere. My rule on hot days: don`t move :-D

On the days I don’t have to work, you’ll definitely find me by the pool - nothing beats a relaxing swim in this heat! And when it’s a workday, I’m surviving thanks to air conditioning and lots of iced drink 😄

Stay cool, everyone!

I can't believe that I lived without AC during my early twenties! On super hot days, I like to reflect on how hideous it got during the peak of summer. This opens up so much gratitude for my home having a fantastic AC unit! Oh boy, you can bet that on hot days I'm only going outside to let the dogs out or take them for a walk!

I also ramp up the electrolytes during these days.

A trip to a chilly destination as summer reaches its peak just a refreshing change of pace.  😄

Air conditioning, fans, and shade are how I'm staying cool these steamy days. We've had a lot of smoke in the air from Canadian wildfires, so the AC has been on even on the cooler evenings unfortunately.

Back when I was a teacher, it always seemed to be hottest days of summer when we went back to school. My school had no air conditioning, so it was often required to keep the blinds closed to keep some sun out and lots of fans!

I usually work from home, but my office is on the first floor under a flat roof, so it can get pretty warm. I do have air conditioning, but I tend to set it to 27–28°C, and it usually runs all day when it’s just too hot outside. ❄️

At the office, we also have AC, but my colleagues like to crank it down to 18–20°C, so I’m usually freezing there 😅

My winning combo: ceiling fan in the living room, a cold beer, and firing up the PS5. 😄

I'm running hot even in colder days, so it's a real struggle when the temperatures go more than 20 😳 (don't ask me with our summers being 30-38C). I stay inside most of the day, but I have a mandatory dog walk late afternoon, which makes me feel like I am burning.

There is a curious fact that drinking cold drinks does not always help when you are very hot, so I tend to have a cup of tea in the afternoons (combined with air conditioning). On some days, I make an iced latte at home after coming home from the gym. Or a cold shower if it's a desperate time 😀
