A new user, this is what I want to do. I have a series of tasks which repeat daily
1. I want them to appear in my TODAY list with today as the date for them being done, when marked done they will show as done, at the end of the day I want them to move to another board (maybe called DONE) and the tasks appear with the new date on them for the new day so I can work through them again.
2. I want the TODAY list to order itself in time order so the first item is the first thing of the day etc.
Problems......
Repeat seems to be inconsistent, and is the repeat set on start date or due date?
I cannot see any time variable to use....
I can only see automation commands for the board on the web version, not on the mobile IOS versions
When I try to look for automations on the IOS versions I cannot see any other than 4 set up by the optional board I used as a template.
None of the above seems to me to be something I should not be able to do, but a weekend spent trying has proved VERY frustrating.

Card repeater is remarkably consistent, you set a repeat date/time and it will duplicate that card into the list of your choice at that time each day (give or take a few mins)
Card repeater is very simplistic so will not dynamically change the due date but you can do that yourself with a simple automation like this:
When a card is copied into list "Today", set the due date to 5pm today

There is a multitude of time and date variables that can be used in automation

It is best to set up automation on Trello on the web, that gives you full automation capability. The automations that have been created will execute on mobile versions.

I understand your frustration. Trello is a very open platform with a lot of capability but it's openness can mean it is hard to grasp initially.
I suggest these resources:

Thank you for taking the time to reply in this detail, I will work away on your suggestions and see where it takes me.

Thank you that has shown me the way and I am busy exploring all the options. Very powerful once you get the hang of it.
