Hello! I'm using Trello automation/butler to organize the cards, but I have a loop warning that I am not sure how to fix.
I have two automations set-up:
1. When custom field "Status" is set to "Done" by anyone, move the card to the bottom of the list "Done"
2. When a card has been added to list "Done" by anyone, set the custom field "Status" to "Done"
These two automations have been conflicting each other since when the field is changed -> list is changed -> field is changed..... so on. It would be simple if Trello had an option to exclude the actions by the butler (eg. when the status NOT set by the butler) but I couldn't find such option.
What I really want is to keep the list & custom field aligned. The reason why I have both the list & custom field is because I have this board mirroring another board, that uses the custom field to track the progress.
Any tips to prevent this? I guess I could also keep it as so and endure the red alerts, but it would be nice to get it fixed :) Thanks so much!
Somewhere in the two rules, try adding that the card is not in a list Done. I think it should be on the first rule.
Hi! That worked perfectly. Thank you so much!
If anyone faces the same issue - the setup that worked was:
when custom field "Status" is set to "Blocked" in a card not in list "Blocked" by anyone, move the card to the bottom of list "Blocked"
