Find and replace custom field value (bulk action)

Mairi Nixon

We have a custom field for links to file storage that will change for all cards (the storage location was migrated). I need to bulk update hundreds of cards to the new URL where users can view relevant documentation.

Is there a way for me to use a csv or something to lookup and replace the value in each card? Simple task in excel, but Trello only has standard bulk actions (all selected cards receive the same treatment) or Smart Import that only populates the field in a new card.

Thanks :)

Hi @Mairi Nixon

Bulk Actions is a standard solution for bulk-adding custom fields to cards, but if each of your card is supposed to have a unique URL, that is a special case that is, unfortunately, not supported at the moment.

Hi @Mairi Nixon

You should be able to use Table View power-up for this, you can use Table view to filter/sort the items then check all of them and do a bulk update of that field.

Hi @Mike - Dreamsuite Consulting ,

What if each card has a unique URL?
