How can I update a stored GitHub password in Sourcetree?

Dear support,

I am using Sourcetree to access a file that is stored on GitHub. Since one week I cannot fetch anything from GitHub anymore. I am asked for my GitHub password, enter it and get an empty GitHub login window again. Not able to access the file on GigHub anymore. Login directly in GitHub works. I have contacted GitHub support and updated to the last GitHub version. As I recently changed my GitHub password, the suggestion was that Sourcetree may have stored my old GH password. Where could I check and update the password so that the connection Sourcetree - GitHub works again?

Password removal was a topic every now and then here in Community.

Here is a knowledbase article for SourceTree to wipe preferences which was said to work out:
