🎢 7 Magical Reasons to Attend Atlassian Team ‘25 in Anaheim! 🏰

Two years ago, I wrote an article about why you should attend Atlassian Team ‘23 in Las Vegas. Back then, I highlighted the energy, innovation, and community that make Team events so special. Well, guess what? It’s happening again—this time in Anaheim, California!

And with Disneyland just around the corner, what better way to frame this year’s event than with a little Disney magic? ✨ If you’re still on the fence about attending, here are 7 magical reasons why Atlassian Team ‘25 is the happiest place on earth for Atlassian users!

1️⃣ The Ultimate Adventureland for Collaboration 🌍

Disneyland’s Adventureland is all about discovery and exploration—and that’s exactly what Atlassian Team ‘25 offers when it comes to teamwork and collaboration. Whether you’re a newcomer to the Atlassian ecosystem or a seasoned pro (I’m celebrating 8 years with Atlassian products this year! 🎉), there’s something exciting for everyone.

This year, Atlassian has organized sessions into six adventure-packed tracks to help you navigate the vast landscape of modern teamwork:

  • AI as your Teammate – The future is here! AI is transforming the way we work, and I can’t wait to dive into these sessions, especially since I’ve been heavily exploring AI in the context of ITSM.

  • Enterprise Strategy and Planning – Scaling teams? Managing large projects? These sessions are all about big-picture thinking and making sure your organization’s Atlassian strategy is future-proof. This is an area I’m particularly interested in, as we’ve seen firsthand how our app, Issue Templates Agent, is becoming more valuable for large enterprises. Many of our customers rely on it to scale their projects efficiently, so I’m excited to learn more about how Atlassian is supporting enterprise growth.

  • High Velocity Service Management – Everyone knows my love for Jira Service Management (JSM fans, where are you? 🙌), so this track is an absolute must for me! ITSM is evolving fast, and I can’t wait to see how Atlassian is pushing the boundaries.

  • People, Practices, and the Atlassian System of Work – It’s not just about tools; it’s about how we work. This track dives into best practices, methodologies, and cultural shifts that shape high-performing teams.

  • Teamwork Foundations – Perfect for anyone who’s new to Atlassian or wants to level up their skills. Think of this as your first-time Disneyland visit—exciting, a little overwhelming, but packed with magic. ✨

  • World-Class Software Development – For all the developers and DevOps enthusiasts, this track will cover cutting-edge practices in software development, CI/CD, and cloud technology. I’m especially looking forward to technical sessions on Atlassian Forge, which is constantly evolving and helping developers create custom solutions. Forge is not only making it easier to extend Atlassian products, but it also plays a key role in building Rovo agents, which automate tasks and improve productivity. I can't wait to see what’s next.

Check out the full list of sessions here: Atlassian Team ‘25 Sessions (and keep an eye on it—new sessions are still being added!).

No matter where you are in your Atlassian journey, there’s an adventure waiting for you.

2️⃣ Meet Your Favorite Characters (The Atlassian Experts!) 🤩

One of the best parts of Disneyland is meeting iconic characters—Mickey, Goofy, and the whole crew. At Atlassian Team ‘25, the characters aren’t mascots; they’re real-life Atlassian experts, product leaders, and community rockstars! Whether it’s an Atlassian executive, a legendary Community Champion, or a product manager you’ve only seen in webinars, this is your chance to meet them in person.

Keynote: Learning and Knowledge Discovery in the AI Era

This year’s closing keynote will be an absolute must-attend for anyone curious about the future of AI in education and workplace learning.

Sal Khan, Founder & CEO of Khan Academy, and Ben Gomes, SVP of Learning & Education at Google, will take the stage to explore how AI is redefining knowledge acquisition—from classrooms to corporate environments to the cutting edge of research.

Both of these speakers have been at the forefront of revolutionizing how we learn, and this session promises big insights into how AI can make lifelong learners out of all of us. If you’ve ever wondered about the future of education, AI, and information access, this is the session to watch.

Meet the Appsvio Team

I’ll be there with my Appsvio team, and we’d love to chat with you! Come visit our booth to talk about our ITSM apps and other Atlassian solutions (maybe even some new ones—shh! 🤫). Whether you're interested in automation, templates, or just want to geek out over ITSM, we’re always happy to connect.

Last year we become Partner of the Year in ITSM App Solutions - we hope that this year's event will also bring nice awards 🤞

Spot the Atlassian Legends

Some Atlassian personalities have become as iconic as Disney characters!

  • Mark Cruth – If you’ve attended any Team event before, you’ve probably seen him on stage, bringing energy and insights to teamwork culture. Last year in Vegas, he was kicking off Day 2 with a full house (Check out his LinkedIn post!). Expect more of his signature enthusiasm this year!

  • Mike Cannon-Brookes – While you won’t see Scott Farquhar this time around, Mike will be there! Keep your eyes open—if you spot him, don’t hesitate to grab a quick selfie! 📸

Visit the Atlassian Product Booths

If you haven’t attended a Team event before, here’s a pro tip: every Atlassian product has its own dedicated booth, staffed with the people who actually build, sell, and support the tools you use daily. This is your chance to:

  • Chat with product managers about what’s coming next.

  • Ask developers about features and integrations.

  • Get insights from sales teams on how to maximize your Atlassian stack.

  • And, of course... grab some awesome swag! (Come on, who doesn’t love free gadgets? 🎁).

Join the Atlassian Community Magic

There’s a special place at Team ‘25 where all the Atlassian Community Champions gather. If you’re an active part of the Community—or want to be—this is the perfect opportunity to:

  • Meet fellow Champions and swap experiences.

  • Participate in exclusive workshops to level up your skills.

  • Have fun with like-minded people who geek out over Jira, Confluence, and all things Atlassian just as much as you do!

So, Who Are You Most Excited to Meet?

Whether it’s an Atlassian leader, a product manager, a Community Champion, or even me and the Appsvio team (hint hint! 😉), this event is packed with opportunities to connect.

3️⃣ Tomorrowland: The Future of Work with AI and Collaboration 🎨

If there’s one place in Disneyland that screams innovation and futuristic possibilities, it’s Tomorrowland—and at Atlassian Team ‘25, the hottest ticket to the future is the AI as your Teammate track. This year, there's no doubt that AI is the star of the show—and it’s not surprising at all. Even the last Codegeist hackathon was focused on AI and Rovo agents, showing how AI is reshaping teamwork and collaboration.

One session that immediately caught my eye is from Helen Lau from Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Imagine how AI is transforming decision-making for over 35,000 users—and not just any users, but those working in the financial sector, where security and data protection are absolutely critical. I’m super curious to learn how their AI-powered solutions are balancing efficiency, accuracy, and safety—all while operating on a massive enterprise scale.

Of course, Rovo will take center stage at many sessions this year, showing us how human-AI collaboration is unlocking new possibilities for teams. If you're exploring AI (like I am!), this is the perfect opportunity to discover practical use cases and find out how to bring those ideas into your daily work.

But when we talk about the future of work, it's not just about tools—it's also about people and practices. That’s why I’m equally excited for the track People, Practices, and the Atlassian System of Work.

As a creative person and product manager, I can’t wait for the session from Alex Kemp from Canva. He’ll share how Canva supercharged goal tracking and delivery—a challenge that every team faces, whether you're building templates, designing graphics, or managing software projects.

4️⃣ A FastPass to Networking & Inspiration 🤝

In Disneyland, a FastPass gets you ahead of the crowd, and at Team ‘25, networking events and breakout sessions put you right in the mix with industry leaders. Whether you're looking for career advice or your next big idea, you’ll leave inspired.

One of the best parts of Disneyland is how it brings people together from all around the world — and Atlassian Team ‘25 does exactly the same! While the sessions and product announcements are exciting, let’s be honest — the real magic happens when people meet and exchange ideas.

Atlassian Team events are not just about technology, they’re about community. It’s the place where you can meet people from different industries, countries, and backgrounds — all united by their love for collaboration and Atlassian products. Whether you're working in finance, healthcare, software development, or government — everyone has a unique story to tell.

Sometimes serious talks, sometimes funny jokes 😉

Conversations That Spark Innovation

I’ve always believed that the best ideas are born during coffee breaks, casual chats in the Expo Hall, or late-night discussions after sessions. The event gives you endless opportunities to talk about your challenges, share solutions, or simply bond over your love of Jira workflows (yes, it happens!).

Partner Events – The Hidden Gems

While the official agenda is packed with great content, don’t forget about the networking events organized by Atlassian Partners! These side events are perfect for more relaxed conversations and deeper discussions. You can exchange experiences, discover new solutions, and sometimes even get a sneak peek at upcoming products (and yes, there’s always delicious food and drinks! 🍹🍕).

I still remember pool parties organized by Adaptavist in Las Vegas — those were unforgettable moments where fun and networking went hand in hand.

The Bash – The Grand Finale

Of course, we can't forget about the famous Bash Party — the cherry on top of the whole event! It’s where everyone comes together to celebrate, dance, and have fun. If you're still wondering whether to attend Team '25 — let me just say... the Bash alone is worth the ticket!

5️⃣ Hands-On Learning—Like a Ride You Won’t Forget! 🎢

Even in Disneyland, there’s always a place to learn a little magic — whether it's discovering how to become a Jedi at the Star Wars Academy or learning to draw your favorite Disney characters. At Atlassian Team ‘25, that magical place is Atlassian University!

While Team events are full of fun and networking, they’re also the perfect chance to invest in yourself by expanding your knowledge and gaining new skills. If you're looking to level up your Atlassian journey, you can’t miss the hands-on educational opportunities available during the event.

Free Trainings at Atlassian University

Atlassian University is already an amazing place offering many free training courses online — whether you're just starting with Jira or exploring advanced topics like automation and service management. But attending Team '25 gives you access to something even better — offline, instructor-led sessions where you can learn directly from the experts.

Certification Bootcamps & Exams

I still remember when I tried to pass my first certification — Jira Administrator for Data Center — during my first Team in Barcelona in 2017. It was super stressful, and to be honest... I wasn’t well prepared. Of course, I failed. But that failure turned out to be one of the best lessons for me.

Fast forward to today — I've passed all available certifications, and looking back, I know that every exam helped me grow as a professional. If I ever have to take another certification, I'd definitely want to do it in Disneyland — because let's face it, failing in such a magical place would feel much better! 😄

During Team '25, you can sign up for:

  • Certification Bootcamps to help you prepare for exams

  • Official Certification Exams

  • Dedicated Developer Training sessions

All details you can find here.

I'm especially excited about the developer track, where you can learn how to build apps with Atlassian Forge — the future of the Atlassian app ecosystem. Whether you're an experienced developer or just starting your journey, these sessions will give you the tools to turn your ideas into working apps (maybe even your own Rovo agent!).

Broaden Your Horizons

Atlassian Team isn’t just about the tools — it’s about helping you become a better teammate. Whether you're brushing up on technical skills or exploring new practices for collaboration, these educational sessions will inspire you to bring fresh ideas back to your team.

6️⃣ The Magic of Community ❤️

If there’s one place in Disneyland that perfectly represents the Atlassian Community, it's a Small World — where people from all around the globe come together, united by shared values. What makes Atlassian Community is that it’s not just an online platform — it's a family of passionate people who support each other, share knowledge, and celebrate teamwork.

community_group_photo.png

Unfortunately, in 2024 I wasn't able to join the group photo due to Partner Day, but in 2025 I will definitely not miss it!

For me, Team '25 is one of the few occasions where you can see this family come to life in one place. It’s an incredible experience to finally meet people you've been talking to online for months (or even years!) — whether they're Community Leaders, Atlassian team members, or fellow enthusiasts from all corners of the world.

Beyond the Workshops

One of the things I love the most is how the Community vibe goes far beyond official workshops and sessions. You can bump into a fellow Leader during a coffee break, have deep discussions about best practices at the Expo Hall, or even find yourself talking about life and Atlassian tools during an evening walk around Anaheim.

An Elegant Celebration

But what makes the Atlassian Community truly special is how we celebrate each other. One of my favorite moments is the exclusive dinner for Community Leaders, where we gather to wrap up the week, share memories, and honor the most active members with awards. It's not only about the delicious food (although that's always a highlight 😋) — it's about the sense of belonging and appreciating the passion that everyone brings to the community.

Delicious food is an integral part of unforgettable events

Lifelong Friendships

Being part of this community has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my Atlassian journey. It's not just about knowledge — it's about building lifelong friendships. I honestly believe that people are the heart of this ecosystem, and events like Team '25 remind me how lucky I am to be part of this global family.

7️⃣ Bonus: The Perfect Excuse to Visit Disneyland! 🎠

Let’s be real—when an amazing conference happens next to the happiest place on earth, you make time for both! Plan an extra day to ride Space Mountain, meet your favorite characters, and celebrate all the Atlassian magic you’ve soaked up.

Atlassian Team ‘25 is more than a conference—it’s an experience. Whether you’re looking to level up your skills, make valuable connections, or just soak in the energy of an amazing community, this is your golden ticket.

I’d love to hear:

  • Which track are you most excited about?

  • Who’s on your “must-meet” list for Team ‘25?

  • What do you think the future of work will look like? Are you more excited about AI-powered automation or collaboration best practices?

  • What’s your favorite part of attending live events — the sessions or the people you meet?

  • What's your next career goal — earning a certification or learning how to build apps with Forge?

  • Have you ever tried to pass a certification at an Atlassian event?

Let’s discuss in the comments!

And see you in Anaheim! 🩷

@Kate Pawlak _Appsvio_ as always, a thoughtful and engaging post. Sorry that I won't get to see you and the Appsvio team this year. One of the best swag items ever was the Headbands/Guess Who Atlassian Ice Breakers card set!
