The Jira Cloud for Microsoft Teams app now understands natural language. Your team can now create, update, and assign work to teammates or AI coding agents without leaving the chat.
Make sure you have:
Rovo enabled for your site
The Jira Cloud for Microsoft Teams app installed and enabled by your site admin
Access to the Jira site configured for your Teams channel
Follow these steps on how to get started.
Already using the app? No need to install anything new. Just @JIRA in your channel or chat.
@ mention Jira ("@Jira") in your Teams channel or chat. If the app hasn't been added yet, follow the prompt to invite it to your channel.
On first use, select your Jira site and desired space.
Then, @JIRA and describe what you need in plain language. You can tell it to create or update work items including labels, priority, and more, or assign work. The output will be a completed work item with populated fields and an editable card in the thread.
You can change your settings at any time, by typing /jira agent in the channel to update your site, space, or add a custom instruction.
A status change decided in standup: @JIRA, move XXX-XXX to In Review
Hand a task to a coding agent: @JIRA, assign this task to Jira Coding Agent
A feature request surfaces in a channel: @JIRA, create a work item for this and mark it as high priority
