How can I create a form for my website that includes a textarea and an email field, allowing users to provide feedback? The feedback should be collected in Jira Discovery. This is very important! How else are we supposed to start collecting feedback without a website form???
@Tanguy Crusson had a great writeup that's a bit old, but should still work great, here: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-Product-Discovery-articles/How-can-we-use-Jira-Product-Discovery-to-collect-feedback-from/ba-p/1890780
I agree though - I'm coming from a company that had Pendo Feedback in our application and loved how easy it was for customers to write their own ideas, upvote others, and see releases!
that's how we do it: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/product-discovery/resources/handbook/feedback-and-insights#what-are-insights
We have an in-app widget for users to send us feedback, and it goes to a Jira Service Management queue. We then add the relevant feedback to ideas using the JPD Chrome extension.

You’re absolutely right — collecting user feedback via a website form is often the first and most critical step in getting quality insights into Jira Product Discovery. 👍
Unfortunately, Jira Product Discovery doesn’t natively offer a public form to embed on a website. While you can manually create ideas or use tools like Jira Service Management to build customer portals, those methods are often limited or require user licenses — and they aren’t optimized for open feedback collection on external websites.
To streamline this, Smart Forms for Jira can help. It allows you to:
Create a form with a textarea for open feedback and an email field (with validation).
Map form inputs directly to Jira Product Discovery fields — so feedback becomes structured Ideas.
Auto-create Jira ideas when someone submits the form.
Share it externally via a public link or embed it directly into your website — without needing the user to log in.
Even better — responses can be routed, tagged, and categorized automatically in Jira.
This lets you start collecting actionable feedback instantly, no developer time needed.
If you’re working in Product Discovery, this can be a game-changer for building your feedback pipeline.
