We’re already halfway through 2025, and our teams are more energized than ever as we continue to deliver new solutions that strengthen your trust and unlock even greater value across the Atlassian Ecosystem and Marketplace.

Updates to the Atlassian Marketplace

[Now live] Runs on Atlassian badge: The Runs on Atlassian badge, now available on the Marketplace, is here to help answer the long-asked customer question, “which apps are built on Forge, Atlassian’s developer platform?”

While Runs on Atlassian apps—like the name says—run on the Atlassian platform, they also offer data residency and don't transmit data outside the platform unless allowed by the customer. That means customers with strict requirements can easily filter for apps that keep data on-platform, speeding up approvals and helping teams intuitively find Marketplace solutions that fit their unique requirements.

[Now live] Validate trust centers for apps right from the privacy and security tab: We’ve released a new update that allows Marketplace Partners to display verified third-party trust center links directly on the Atlassian Marketplace, appearing on app listings and partner profile pages. This makes it easier than ever to understand how your apps handle security, compliance, and privacy.

[coming soon] Provider-specific terms link: Marketplace Partners will soon be able to indicate if they use a standard legal agreement and highlight any changes directly in their app listings, making it simple for customers to quickly identify apps with streamlined terms.

Strengthening security

[Now live] Marketplace Partner Security questionnaires: Customers can enjoy peace of mind with continual assurance that apps adhere to Atlassian’s Marketplace App Security Requirements. Marketplace Partners must now complete a set of security questionnaires as part of the existing App Onboarding and App Review Processes.

Driving higher Marketplace standards:

We're raising the bar to ensure we meet the needs of all customers, including enterprises.

Starting July 1, 2025, Atlassian Platinum Marketplace Partners will need to be compliant with SOC2 Type II or ISO27001:2022 and have a third-party validated Trust Center, while Gold partners will be required to be in the process of obtaining one of these certifications. This aligns with our shared goal to offer the compliance customers expect.
