is there any way to modifiy the look&feel of Bamboo? I know that there is no add on available, but we would like to color the header bar black, change the site logo and set our own favicon.
Does anybody know where those settings could be tweaked?

You could try following the guide on Customizing the color of Bamboo banner (as you have not specified version of your Bamboo etc., I can't check out how you do it 100%).
