Frequently asked questions

Question

Response/Answer

Can I turn off the new navigation for Atlassian Home?

Yes, you can temporarily turn off the new navigation before we remove the option.

To turn on/off the new navigation:

  1. From the top right corner, select Settings > Personal settings.

  2. You can toggle the switch on/off for Navigation.

  3. Refresh the page.

Note: Turning on/off the new navigation via Personal Settings will only affect you and not all users on the site.

Can an admin turn off the new navigation for my site?

If you’re an admin of a product:

  • You can turn on the new navigation only for yourself

  • You can turn on the new navigation for everyone on the site

As an admin, you can delay turning on the new navigation for everyone on your site for a few weeks (3-8 weeks) before we enable it by default.

Will turning off new navigation for Atlassian Home affect other products like Jira and Confluence?

No, turning off the new navigation will not affect Jira or Confluence.

See more about turning on/off the new navigation for Jira and Confluence.

If my site doesn’t have a Jira subscription and has only Confluence, when will my site get the new navigation?

Your site will get new navigation on Atlassian Home when we roll out to 100%, i.e., July 2025.

In the meantime, join our focus group to stay updated, ask questions, raise concerns, and connect with the team working on the new navigation.

Regards,
The Atlassian navigation team

We had the new navigation on for a bit and it went away. Is there documentation somewhere on enabling (and disabling)? I gather it is still in the works, but wanted to ask anyways. Thank you Atlassian! Always love the newness and features.

Brian Mertens March 24, 2025

Can we enable the new navigation in a Sandbox environment without enabling it in Production?

@Miriam Hopton We experienced a brief technical issue on March 20, 2025. For approximately 45 minutes, the new navigation was unintentionally enabled for some users, which wasn’t part of our planned rollout schedule. The issue was quickly resolved and we’ve put controls in place to prevent an event like this in the future.

You can choose to turn on the new navigation on April 14,2025 as we're enabling optional opt-in for all sites. If you choose to not enable it, then depending on the plan you're on, your site will get the new navigation. Please refer to the table above to see when your site will get the new navigation.

To turn on/off the new navigation:

  1. From the top right corner, select Settings > Personal settings.

  2. You can toggle the switch on/off for Navigation.

  3. Refresh the page.

Good morning @Varsha Patel !

Thank you for replying and appreciate your help + direction. I will make note of the date of go-live next week. Exciting stuff.

So the settings will be per user (new navigation)? Is that something I can set globally for all users? Per the table, looks like I will be able to! As I would like to update all documentation for users with the new navigation experience. Looking forward to this!

We are on Jira Cloud (and love it!).

This is a great page and document - amazing job, Atlassian!!

Last info in the table states:

  • 100% rollout
  • End of July 2025
  • All users of all plans are on the new navigation with no ability to turn it off.

So, according to this, org-admins will not have the option to turn the new navigation off per site or per user. It will only be available during the transition period. Do I understand correctly?

@Ales Janzekovic

By the end of July 2025, admins or users won't have the ability to turn off the new navigation.

Additionally, as per your site's plan, we'll be disabling the option to turn off the new navigation.

For example, if your site is on a Standard plan, then we'll remove the option for admins to turn off the new navigation for their sites in mid-April to mid-May 2025. We'll remove the option for users to turn off their navigation by the end of May 2025.

@Miriam Hopton Admins have the ability to turn on the new navigation for all users, i.e., globally for all users on the site (the steps listed above).

Once an admin turns on the new navigation for all users on the site, user have the option to turn on/off the new navigation only for themselves.

We're working on creating official enablement materials. We'll keep your updated when this is available.
