Upcoming changes to keyboard shortcuts in Jira plans

Hey community!

We wanted to let you know that new keyboard shortcuts in Jira plans will be effective as of 29/08/2025 15:00 AEST.

Currently, you can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate plans' timeline view and perform a range of actions such as set the timeline span from weeks (W) to years (Y), open the Unsaved changes dialogue (R), quickly add columns (A), and more.

To enhance the keyboard accessibility of the Jira plans, this change involves adding two modifier keys “Command/Ctrl” and “Option/Alt” to current single-letter shortcut keys, whilst the letter keys will remain unchanged. The following table compares the existing and new keyboard shortcut map of Jira plans.
