Atlassian G-Suite Sync Questions

Curious about enabling G-Suite sync. However I have a few questions about it. 

-Do existing external users (outside of our domain and G-suite) maintain access after enabling G-Suite Sync? 

-Documentation mentions a 4 hour sync. If we deactivate a G-Suite account, does this mean their Atlassian access is not revoked until the next 4 hour sync occurs? Or does the deactivation take place immediately?

Where you able to figure this out? I do believe the sync happens every 4 hours, so the changes would not reflect until the sync happens.
