How to restore tasks to their older status?

Question

I opened an existing project in JIRA and unknowingly changed all the existing status to the ones I wanted. I thought it would change only to my epic but instead it changed for all and assigned "To Do" status by default to all existing tasks because that's what my first status is.

How can I restore a backup for the whole project?

I do not believe there is a simple way for this. My advise would be:

* Revert your change(this sets all statuses back to what they were).
* Create a new status or even workflow for your own project and apply your required changes to this.

If I misunderstood, please provide a bit more context of what changed with images of what was and what is now(If they were transitioned, consider grabbing issue history screenshots).
