Hi Folks,
I'm trying to verify my domain over DNS as for these set of instructions:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/verify-a-domain-for-your-organization-873871234.html
Point 5 states:
Your DNS record may have the following fields:
Unfortunately my domain does not accept a blank Name/Host/Alias and it comes back with an error:
“A zone name must be a domain name, and can include a period at the end.”
If I use only @, system auto-complete it with @.mydomainname.com.
In addition, my DNS host has already a record called: mydomainname.com.
What should I do?
Should I use mydomainname.atlassian.net ?
Thank you
Marco
Hi @Marco ,
Each DNS provider is a bit different in how they handle specifying TXT records on the root domain.
Are you able to share who your DNS provider is and it's possible we'll be able to provide more specific instructions on your configuration?
When you attempt to add TXT most providers specify how to correctly associate the TXT entry with your root domain .example.com
For Example, here's the same record in two different DNS provider systems:
AWS Route53
Cloudflare
