How to delete a site from the Organization

Question

I have been asked to remove a site from our organization because they are splitting off. How do I go about doing this? Also if the site is removed from our org, does this effect the users who belong to that site? Or is it still available for them, but just can't access from our Organization.

When a site is linked to an Organization, currently it's not possible to remove the site from the Org.

There is a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

* Ability to unlink a site from an Atlassian Access Organization
