What's New in Opsgenie June 2021

Hi there! It's been a while since we've had a what's new post and we have a lot to report on! Including:

  • Deprecating the vertical navigation bar
  • Team-level incident rules
  • Postmortem API
  • Critical alerts volume

Keep reading to learn more.

First let’s talk about deprecating the vertical navigation bar. We introduced the horizontal navigation bar to Opsgenie about a year ago for an improved experience, but gave our customers a while to acclimate since it was so different from what they were used to. Starting on June 14, 2021 we began deprecating the vertical navigation bar, and by June 30, 2021 it will no longer be available for use. We’re excited to provide an experience that is seamless with the rest of the Atlassian tool chain.

Incident rules are now at the team-level. After talking to customers about how they were using incident rules, we decided to put them at the team-level—this way you can define rules without an impacted service, protect incident rules when the service-owner team is removed, and enable adding more than one service for a single rule. Read more.

We’ve introduced the Postmortem API. This means you can now leverage the API to get Opsgenie postmortem information if you’d like to leverage it outside of the postmortem template.  Read more

And last but not least, we heard you 🔊, no pun intended. You can now adjust the volume that Critical alerts come through.

Try it out and let us know what you think below!

Best,

Kate
