Hi Shantal, welcome to the Community,

I got access the same way you did, used my Atlassian account to log into it.

That's a circular answer though.  I think you intended this question for someone in your organisation, not us in the Community, as there's a load of context missing - you have not told us what "external" is, what tools you are trying to use, what "couldn't access" means (can't find them, don't have an account, don't know the password, error message after you log in, that sort of thing), or why you are asking "how did you access this site?"
