Hi. I use Microsoft teams. Is Jira similar?

No.  Teams is a way to talk (chat) with poeple.  Jira is an issue tracker.

@Dermot Keddy Microsoft Teams is a communication software, which allows you to chat, make video calls, and have group conversations. 

JIRA is essentially a task tracker - you can create tasks like "Water the plants" , and then assign someone in your team to do it. Tasks will have statuses such as "PENDING" or "DONE"
