limiting jira-admins

Hi There, 

I understand that jira-admins means users within this group have the ability to create projects, fields, screens, workflows, manage permissions and so-on across all projects. 

However, I have a use case where for example, for HR projects, we might have some that are related to personal employee things or sensitive employee information. We don't want jira-admins to see HR projects. Is there a way to implement this?

No, there's no way to do this.  A lot of stuff admins do needs them to have global access, and they could not do the role without it.

You can permission your HR projects so that your admins can not see them in the UI - admin rights mean "can do admin", not "can see or do anything", but an admin has the power to change those permissions, should they want.

Basically, you have to trust your admins.

Hi @[deleted]  in your case, you can create a permission scheme for HR Projects:

1. Click on the Settings gear icon in the top right corner.

2. Choose Issue

3. Find and click on Permission Scheme

4.  Locate the permission scheme that the HR projects are associated with.

5. Find the Browse Projects permission.

6. If "jira-admins" is listed, click on "Remove" and remove the "jira-admins" group from this permission.
