jira typeerror: cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'queryselector')

Joe Casale February 22, 2024

When I add a JIRA issue to a confluence page in the table format I get the error above.  and the html is displayed rather than the text only.

  1. The steps I am doing is in confluence choose Insert | Jira issue/filter
  2. Add the JIRA query, in this case the problem happen even with a single ticket as the query
  3. In the display options choose table and pick the fields
  4. In this case I choose a field of type checklist

When I save the page throws the error mentioned in the title and html is displayed rather than just the contents of the checklist.

Any help would be appreciated as to why this is happening and how to prevent it

Hi Joe,

Confluence recently released updates that stops rendering the HTML of third party custom fields in Jira Issue macro.

If you update your confluence, they should have fixed it now (but the rendering is unfortunately not like before, they are stripping out some HTML tags).

Regards,
Maxime

Thank You, we applied the update and now it renders again. The checkboxes are still missing but it renders.

This is the Atlassian ticket for the new issue:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-94770 for the checkboxes not rendering
