how to list all items excluding subtasks

Thiru Praturi July 29, 2019

Hi,
When I see my task list on JIRA, I see Sub-tasks as separate rows.

Can you tell how to suppress Sub-tasks while viewing the Open Issues items

Thanks

Hi Thiru - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You can add a Quick Filter to hide the Sub-tasks if you like.

Thanks,
Currently I have a quick filter setup with following parameters.
resolution = Unresolved ORDER BY key ASC, issuetype ASC, priority DESC, updated DESC

can you please advise what to add to remove SubTasks in the list of items

issuetype NOT IN (Sub-task)

or if you have ScriptRunner App installed, you can use (this will apply the filter on all Sub-task issue types):

issuetype not in (subTaskIssueTypes())

If you're arriving here after Q3 2023, you now can filter using

issuetype NOT IN subtaskIssueTypes()

Worth to mention that, depending on your needs, you can also use

issuetype IN standardIssueTypes()
