Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The estimates for a board can be run off the time estimates, or any other numeric field you have.

To add options into that list, add a numeric field to the project.

Remaining time is not a suitable number to do scrum estimation from because it changes as people log time.  A scrum estimate is supposed to be a fixed number when the sprint starts (hence original estimate is a good candidate)

thanks for the help. can you guide me how to add numeric field to the project in order to add options to that list.

Also in the backlog view of the project we can either see story points or original time estimate for issues. Is there a way that we can have a view of both story points and original time estimate for the issues in backlog view.

Story points is already a numeric field, but you can add your own.  In global admin, go to issues -> custom fields and add a new one, making sure you select "number" as the field type.  You may want to restrict it to the projects your board looks at.  You will need to add it to the screens for those projects as well.

The selection field for "Estimation method" only lets you select one field, and that then becomes the board's sprint estimate, which is the column you see in the right-hand side of your backlog.

Other fields named in there are just fields, they are not the sprint estimate.

You can get them shown in the backlog by configuring them as fields on the backlog rows - go to board config -> card layout.
