@preethy sekar  , as John suggested, you could flag or unflag an issue when it's status change in the workflow. You could set the value of 'Flagged' field to achieve this.

If you can explain more on your actual use case we could give you a more appropriate suggestion.

Hi Preethy - you should be able to do this with some type of automation or post function. 

When do you want to set or remove the flag?
