Why would a "Cancelled" subtask prevent sprint from closing?

I have reports from a user in my organization that is unable to close a sprint unless they use a status called "Done" on their Subtasks. They are trying to use the status called "Cancelled" which is in the Done Category (green). The workflow ends with 2 Done-category statuses, DONE and CANCELLED.

When they use Cancelled on the subtask, they cannot close the sprint. When they change the subtask to DONE, the sprint closes.

The workflow assigned to SUB TASK is correct, it shows 2 done statuses. The workflow assigned to the Story is different, but it also shows 2 done statuses.

Im quite perplexed, because it should let them close the sprint.

Is there something I am missing?

Have you mapped the Cancelled status to the furtherest right column on your board? That column tells the board if the issue is done or not. If you have not mapped Cancelled to that column the board consider the subtask to still be open and that is why your users cannot complete sprints.

Your other option would be to remove cancelled issues from the board by updating the filter that the board is using to not include cancelled issues.
