Why does the estimation unit appear different in the epic for the same project?

Allan Zúñiga September 29, 2023

Hello My question is the following: Our estimates are by time and that's how we have it configured, what I don't understand is why the time estimate appears everywhere but within an epic story points appear?

I need time to also be reflected in the incidents that are daughters of the epic.

This is how it looks everywhere and this is how I need it to be seen within the incidents of the epic

The epic shows me the story points and I have everything configured in time

This is my configuration:

Thanks for the help :)

Hello @Allan Zúñiga

I can only speculate on why the estimation value shown for Child Issue in an Epic does not match the Estimation value you set for a Board. My guess is that the reason is because issues can be displayed in multiple boards and each board can have a different Estimation setting. When you are viewing an individual issue there is no correlation to the board(s) in which it is displayed so there would be no way to tell which estimation value should be shown.

There is an open change request regarding the ability to customize which fields show in the Child Issues (and Subtasks and Linked Issues) displays.
