Why am I unable to link to a confluence page within a task?

l select link page option within a task. Select from Confluence pages. Hit the link button and then can this error message (see image below)

We're having trouble. Check your connection and try again.

I've checked this many times but our connection is fine.

Whatever way I do this it fails - I tried copying both long and tiny link in Confluence and pasting the link but I get the same error message.

What am I doing wrong?

  I have seen this error when the application link is not working.  Since you are using cloud products I would suggest reaching out to support so they can look into your product configuration. They can be contacted here: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
