Using Advanced Roadmaps unable to find childIssuesOf/parentIssuesOf functions

Having this hierarchy:

• INIT-001 (at initiative hierarchy level)
  • EPIC-001 (at epic hierarchy level)
  • EPIC-002
    
    • STORY-001 (at story hierarchy level)
    • STORY-002

We try to get the child issues of INIT-001, typing issuekey in childIssuesOf("INIT-001").

According to the following article: Searching for issues using Advanced Roadmaps details | Advanced Roadmaps for Jira Data Center and Server 3.29 | Atlassian Documentation

All child issues below INIT-001 would be returned, and not just the child issues at the epic hierarchy level. This means EPIC-001, EPIC-002, STORY-001, and STORY-002 would be returned.

But I get the following error:

Unable to find JQL function 'childIssuesOf(INIT-001)'

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

The documentation you are referencing is for Jira Server/Data Center, not Jira Cloud. You can tell this by the use of "jiraportfolioserver" in the URL and the activation of the "Data Center and Server" button in the upper right.

Anyway, I'm a bit confused: when searching "Parent Link" is not EMPTY

I'm not only getting every Epic with the parent link not empty but every issue with "Parent" and "Parent link" not empty.

Is this the expected result of that query?
