Upgrade of Jira Data Center, Confluence and Bitbucket

Planning on upgrading Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket, application and PostgreSQL.  Wanted to know if they have to be upgraded at the same time to have a fully functional stack?  

What issues would exist if only upgraded Jira and Confluence then waited a few weeks to upgrade Bitbucket?

Upgrading PostgreSQL to version 13 and the applications to the following:

Jira 9.4

Confluence 7.19.6

Bitbucket 7.21.10

Hi Liz,

I am not sure if I exactly understand your question. However, I am trying to write down the process we follow for upgrading Atlassian applications.

• First, check the list of vulnerable version for each application and decide to which Fixed Version are you planning to upgrade . https://confluence.atlassian.com/security/security-advisories-bulletins-1236937381.html
• Go to the application specific Upgrade checklist page to understand various system requirement and compatibility info. For example, Jira Upgrade checklist is available at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0912/upgrade-checklist-1346046999.html
• Always upgrade on a Test environment first and do a sanity test.
• For major upgrades, always do a rollback testing on the Test environment.
• Finally do the upgrade on your Production instance.

I don't see any reason to club all your upgrades . You can do upgrade of one application at a time.
