Hi! I created a few subtasks on JIRA, but I when I try to open them, I receive this pop-up:
I'm not sure why this is occurring. One possible root cause could be that when I try to add a new ticket to my Kanban board (create a new issue), the only issue type options are: epic, task. A subtask does not appear in the dropdown. I'm not sure if this a bug or yet another intentional quirk of JIRA.
And here's proof that I absolutely included 'subtask' as an issue type in the project settings:
Please help me solve this puzzle!
Hello @Guoda Terleckaite
Subtasks will not appear in the drop down of issue types in the Create Issue dialog because subtasks can exist only as the child of another issue.
To create a subtask you must go to the issue that will be the parent and click the Add Child Issue button. Note the parent issue in your case must be a Task. You can't create subtasks directly in Epics. When you click the Add Child Issue button in an Epic, that will create (in your case) a Task that is a child of the Epic.
Exactly what steps did you go through when you created your subtasks?
Do you have issue security on the project?
