Hi Colleagues,
I have this case.
In the tickets, I have a user picker custom field(multi-select). I have automation, that adds new users in that field, keeping already added users. However one of the already added users is inactive in Jira, and automation returns an error while trying to add a new person.
Is there a way, to remove inactive users from the custom field by bulk?
Hi @Gor Greyan
There is no built-in Jira feature that will help you achieve the outcome. However, if you're already using automation-like apps such as JMWE or Power Scripts, these should be enough to accomplish that goal.
If you have either JMWE or PS, let me know, and I will happily help you draft a solution.

Dear Pablo,
We are using JMWE and ScriptRunner, if you can help me with this, I will be very thankful.

Sure thing, @Gor Greyan - Please submit a support ticket at the Appfire support portal (JMWE case) and include the link to this community question so the case can be appropriately assigned.
We'll do our best to support you.

Hello @Gor Greyan,
I am part of the support team of Decadis and I wanted to share with you that it is possible to remove the inactive users of a User Picker (multiple users) custom field with our post function Update fields. For this purpose, it would be necessary to update the field with a Jira expression.
If you are interested in our app or in this approach, we would be glad to assist you in this thread or via or support portal.
Best regards,
Vicente
