Project is stating it is on a free plan, when we have a paid plan and have made no changes

Stuart Wheatley March 7, 2024

We have numerous projects in our company Jira space (cloud version).   Two, that have been active for a very long time, have lost their edit features and tell me that they are on a free-plan, and should be upgraded to access the edit features.

We have made no changes to our plan ,   Please can we get some assistance as to why this will have happened?

Hi @Stuart Wheatley,

Welcome to Atlassian community!

What type of project are they? If you go to Projects and search on them you will column for the type like this:

When you say they lost access to editing, what does that mean? Editing the issues, or editing the project?

Hi ,   We have many projects, the two that have changed, state that they are 'company managed projects'  .

We have other 'company managed projects' , even ones that were created as direct copies of the two that are affected, and none have had their edit access changed.

On the two that are affected, on the left most column, where you normally see 'project settings' , this has option has disappeared on both and I cannot get access, so cannot create any new Fix Versions, cannot add new people to the projects.

Okay so it sounds like the permissions for those two project have changed. Do you have Jira admin permissions? Do you know if the permission scheme for those two projects have changed? Maybe someone removed the Jira admin group from the admin role?

If you have Jira admin permissions you can get to the project settings by going to Settings > Projects and then locate the projects and click on the three-dot menu.

Sounds like I need to speak to the person who handles the permissions.   Will do this and, come back if this cant be fixed by them tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the help

Does this look like I have had a change to my settings for access to editing projects ?
