Parent as a swimlane grouping?

According to this article, Upcoming changes: 'epic-link' replaced with 'parent' | Jira Software Cloud | Atlassian Support, this change has gone into Jira Cloud as of Oct 2023.  Is it in? I'm trying to understand how I can leverage this in my boards.  Specifically, in the swimlane setup, you can group by a few defined items.  One is Epic.  Epic grouping leverages, the epic link.  If Epic link is giving way to Parent, why is Parent not being offered as a choice in the Swimlane?

Hi Damian,

It's partly about naming, and about the underlying code.  The "parent" change is an improvement, but it is primarily a display and search thing, the underlying structure is the same.   Group by Epic is doing the same thing.  It will eventually change.
