We are starting a new Sprint from the backlog in a project and when we do, the name that auto generates is the name of a different project. Any ideas why it's picking that up? I checked the board settings and tickets and it only lists the one project in the filters.
Hi @Audra Bonacki ~ to elaborate on @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- 's answer: the board filter may have been modified to query issues in one project but previously searched a broader scope that pulled from multiple projects. When creating sprints, the system tries to "help" by using the previous sprint created in that board and appending a sequential number to the end. For instance, if the last sprint created on that board was "sprint 1", the next time you click the Create Sprint button, it will automatically enter the name as "sprint 2".
There was not an open sprint before we started this one. the board only has this one project in the filter but we did find that in the other project, there were some tickets from this project so there is some "cross pollination". I'm guessing since that was technically the last sprint tickets from this project were a part of, it pulled that name in?

Sprints do not belong to projects, they belong to boards. The suggested sprint name comes from what the board and its backlog select for display, not a project.

We are starting this sprint from the backlog of this project and confirmed the board is the same and only has this one project in the filter.
