Are we able to add advanced filters when filtering list? I added a new field called 'Brand' on my list but can only filter by category, labels etc.

Unfortunately, you cannot add custom fields for filtering on boards in JWM.
As you mentioned, filtering is limited to following pre-defined system fields:
