Migrating a Jira Software Project

Hello...

I'm a Jira Software Org Admin and set up a Project over the next 6 months for our team to complete for a client. When we complete the project for the client they want to start using Jira for their own project management system and would like our project migrated to their system when we end the project so they have the historical data. Two different businesses with two different Organizational admins, one(me) giving the other organization/Jira license one of our projects.

Is that easy to do with the migration function or do we need special permission?

Thank you,

Eric

Hello @Eric Scheberl ! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It can be done with the Cloud-to-Cloud Migration tool, but the people doing the migration of the project to the new Organization have to be Organization Admins of both organizations.

Thanks!

Can they just add me to their team for a month, make me the admin and then I send the project to them and they take me off of admin for there org?

Basically.  You can be removed after migrating the project over to their organization.
