Hi Team,
We have some requirement in Jira for Linking Issues with the Issue Key we list.
Story: We are using JSM and JWM for this process.
We have Approval Stages in JSM and process flow in Work Management where assignee's do the work and transitions.
So by JSM we have like 5 request types. 1 Parent and other 4 childs.
Firstly the parent request will be created and gets approved and a ticket is created in Work Management Using Automation and the assignee will work on with some transitions and will need some documents from Customer, So they mail the Customer for the documents along with the Parent Issue Key and the customer will create a ticket on the 4 children request type in which assignee mentioned and so.. We have created a custom field box for all four child with the Parent Issue Key, So Once they submitted the form and it has one approval process and after completed it goes to Work Management Child Issue type.
So Now we need the Child issue to be linked to the Parent ID which they Submitted.
We want to do this either by Setting or by Automation ?
Suggest any ideas for making it betterment
Hi @Santhosh Raj and, thanks for your question.
Have you tried adding 'Linked Issues' to in the action when creating a issue in automation? If you select 'Most recently created issue' here, you can link the request. You can also use the 'parent' field. In the 'Parent' field, you can choose the option that suits you best between 'trigger issue' or 'current issue'.
Hope this helps. If the issue is resolved, you can vote and accepted for this comment.

Hi @Murat Seven
This scenario is different.
Lets consider 5 Issue types in Work Management.
1. Source (Main)
2. Waiver
3. TER
4. CER -1
5. CER -2
So Once the Source issue type is created, and the assignee will do some transitions and they will need a help of 2nd Issue type and ask the customer for the document and they will submit the form in JSM and after its completion, an issue will be created in 2. Waiver. So now the issue what is created from Waiver should be linked to Source (i.e., main)
For Eg: If Source Issue Key : OST-10 and assignee works on the issue and wants Waiver and after some above steps a Waiver issue has been created and it issue key would be OST-40.
Once the issue is created from Waiver it should be linked to the ticket OST-10
(i.e., Source) where the assignee will work on with other 2,3,4&5 when they needed.
For this we have created a Custom box and will share the Issue key of 1.Source with the customer and wanted idea on that.
Is it possible to link like that. I know its sounds weird, So please let me know if there is an automation or settings for this @Murat Seven

I have two questions related to the topic:
In my opinion, You can create a "waiver" issue with a self-transition within the "Source" issue. In the self-transition, you can display a screen containing a custom select list, prompting the user to choose one of the values ("Waiver," "TER," "CER-1," or "CER-2"). After this process, you can automate the triggering of self-transition statuses and use if-condition blocks to create and link tasks based on the selected value from the custom select list.
Hope this helps.

Yes Waiver can be created independently.
Moreover all those are Standard Issue types.
If you see the first question above it would start from JSM --> JWM @Murat Seven
