Jira admin and Github admin are different

Radha Khullar

Hi,

In our setup, we have Jira Data center and on-premises Github application.

Both the applications are administered by different teams.

The repositories in Github have private access.

And so to access private repositories while setting up Jira-Github integration using DVCS account it requires Jira admin be given access to private repositories in Github for the integration to sync repositories in Jira.

But this access is against Infosec guidelines and so we wanted to understand how can we setup Jira-github integration without giving Jira admin an access to Github repository.

Regards

Radha

Hi @Radha Khullar ,

unfortunately, you can't. In order to make both application to be synchronized, you need to setup a link with a specific user that has read permissions on github side.
