Hello,
I'm trying to create a Jira plugin. This is my first time doing do so, as well as my first time dealing with Maven. My project is in Eclipse and it is giving me these errors (below), I have no clue what to do.
I've tried changing the Maven installation directory to the one in the Atlassian SDK, I added pluginRepositories tag with atlassian-public into the pom.xml, and I made sure to add the proxy settings to the settings.xml.
I keep getting this error on the first line:
Project build error: Unresolveable build extension: Plugin com.atlassian.maven.plugins:maven-jira-plugin:8.0.2 or one of its dependencies could not be resolved: Failed to read artifact descriptor for com.atlassian.maven.plugins:maven-jira-plugin:jar:8.0.2
an on the 18th line, I get this error:
Project build error: Unknown packaging: atlassian-plugin
Here is my pom.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd">

changing to jira-maven-plugin from maven-jira.plugin worked for me

I have the same problem today and found a solution:)
You should change Maven settings in Eclipse to use maven from Atlassian Plugin SDK.
In Eclipse here:
Window - Preferences - Maven - Installations
add new maven runtime (select type external and select maven folder).
Then change the options
Window - Preferences - Maven - User Settings
"Custom settings" to settings.xml file from Atlassian SDK
(in my case: atlassian-plugin-sdk-8.0.16\apache-maven-3.5.4\conf\settings.xml)

Try to right click on project -> Maven -> Update Project...
