Jira Automation eMail "Description" that has image, but no image displayed in the received eMail.

Jim Gould October 4, 2023

Hello All,

I have seen similiar questions and the answers were use a plugin or edit to use HTML to link to the image, neither of these seem like great solutions.

So, hoping some can help w/ how to convert what is currently sent/received in email into an actual image, any and all help is much appreciated.

In the Ticket description you see an image, but the email that is sent displays !team.jpg|width=77616,height=11520!

Hi @Jim Gould

I do not believe that is currently possible with out-of-the-box features.

There have been several suggestions to add this capability, both for notification emails and those sent by rules.  Here are a couple of examples: JRACLOUD-39464 and JRACLOUD-70301

Images in the fields would be stored as attachments, and although you could download them with a rule, there isn't a way to associate that download as an embedded image in the email's markup.

Kind regards,
Bill

Thank you @Bill Sheboy , not the answer I was hoping for, but I'll take it =)

I assume this is in place to help Atlassian limit the size of their collective outbox
