I have an excel file that has dates for when estimated dates for development, testing, and release will be complete? Also on this, I have columns for actual completion dates for these three as well. It is used to determine how close we were to our estimates.
I am curious if somehow I could import this in Jira to show as a dashboard? Or if Jira has a dashboard I could configure myself that would add this same information?
I am not on cloud, so dashboards are limited.
You can use the external importer to import new issues or update existing issues, so in your case you can import the dates as long as you have corresponding fields on the issue type.
Thanks for the reply @Mikael Sandberg . I was assuming I would have to have corresponding issues. My aim is not to do this. As this will be a very high level snapshot into all projects being worked on.
I am not wanting to track each step of the way, I have another dashboard for that.

You could probably use Universal Gadget to do it, since it allows you to create your own dashboard gadget.
