Hi @DEEPAK KEYNES ,

welcome to the Atlassian community!

you can delete a status from an active workflow just if there are not tickets in that status. If so, you need to move them in another status and then delete it.

Btw, an alert will appear during deletion at workflow level.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

I also have one another question:

  • Status does not require outgoing transition

Is this True?

if you want to delete a status you should delete all incoming and outgoing transition first.

@Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_ ,

Can you please suggest how to move the issues in another status for deleting the status from active workflow?

Hi @DEEPAK KEYNES welcome to the Atlassian Community!

  1. Make a copy of the active workflow.
  2. Make sure there's no issue in the status you would like to delete.
  3. Delete the status from the inactive workflow.
  4. Add the inactive existing workflow to the workflow scheme linking it to the correct issue type(s).
  5. Change the status mapping if needed.
  6. Publish the workflow scheme and let Atlassian execute the remapping until finished.

Thanks @Dave Mathijs

But I Understand the status can be deleted only from the inactive workflow(3rd point)

Yes, that's why I advised to take a copy first.
