I am trying to create dashboards that show Created vs resolved. At the present time none of our statuses Resolve a JIRA ticket. How can I make Closed a resolved status?
Thomas
Hi @Thomas Fritzen,
Welcome to Atlassian Community.
The open vs resolved chart is based on the Resolution field. So in order to make your closed issues show up as resolved you have to modify the workflow and on the transition to Closed add a post function that sets the resolution field. Your other option is to add a screen to the transition that has the Resolution field on it. For more information on how to add the post function, have a look at this KB, Jira issues need a resolution
How do I add a Post Function. I see this when I try and change Closed to Change to resolved.
Description The issue is considered finished, the resolution is correct. Issues which are closed can be reopened.Show less
Thanks
Thomas.

Go to the workflow that the project is using, you can either do that from Project settings > Workflow and from here edit your workflow. Or you can get to the workflow via Settings > Issues > Workflows and then locate the workflow used in the project. Once you are in edit mode of the workflow, click on the transition that will take you to Closed and then select post functions. From the post functions screen, add a new post function and select Update issue field. Have a look at Editing an issue workflow for more information.

Thanks, but that is not working for me. In the "Update issue field" assistant, I can only update things like "labels" or "description", but not any "resolved" fields. Where can I find those?
