I can't change my issue type but that issue type is associated with my project

Jennifer Baum November 10, 2023

I have some subtasks that I want to change to a defect.  I looked in the project and it shows that I have that issue type in my project.  What am I doing wrong?

Hello @Jennifer Baum

You can use that change issue type option only to change issues to another type at the same level and only if they use the same workflow.

If Defect is a standard level issue type (which it is, based on your image) you will need to use the Convert to Issue option instead.

They have to have the same field configuration as well as workflow.
