How to migrate JIRA dump from one license to another? Is this possible?

My project was earlier executed by a third party vendor and the dev activities were tracked in JIRA (license owned by the vendor). Now the contract with the vendor is expiring and i want to transfer these tickets and other information to my JIRA software (under new license). Could you suggest how to do this.

Was the vendor using Jira Cloud or Jira Server/Data Center?

It is possible to migrate date directly from Jira Cloud or Jira Server/Data Center to another Jira Cloud instance, but you will need cooperation from the administrators of the source Jira system. And there are various limitations and requirements associated with the process.

If the vendor administrators of Jira are not cooperative in this process, then you other options is to use the issue data exporting options available on the source system, and then import the data to your own instance. The exact steps again depend on the type of hosting of the source system.
