Hi!

I can not complete my sprints as all tasks in Done status are not defined as completed. Thus all my Done tasks migrate from sprint to sprint.

On the screenshot, you can see that the sprint with all done tickets still contains 0 completed orders.Screenshot 2024-03-29 at 9.55.19 AM.png

What can I do to have my tickets with Done status defined as completed to close sprints correctly?

Hi @Kseniia Kozlova

Your issues need to be in the most right-hand column to be considered "sprint complete" - it's not related to status, status category, or resolution.

You can see confirmation of this here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/done-or-resolved-issues-are-still-shown-as-incomplete-when-closing-sprints-1096100544.html

Aligned with Resolution solution provided in other answers. Also - kindly check status category of "Done" status. It should be "Green" colored status category.

Status category is group of status - associated with one of the three value:

Open, In progress and Done.

your status should be in Done status category.

Hello @Kseniia Kozlova and welcome to the Community!  Do your "Done" issues have a value in the Resolution field?

Hi there, I agree with Laurie. Open one of your tasks you believe should be "done" and check whether the resolution field is set to resolved or is empty. Another way to check this is the color of the status on the card. If the color of the status is not green(it could be blue or gray), then the resolution value associated with that status is not set to resolved.

If the resolution value for your "Done" status is not set to resolved, you will need a Jira product admin to update your project workflow to assign a resolution value of resolved to your "Done" status.

Please also check the last column in your active sprint. The statuses in the last column are considered as Done.

I can confirm that @YY Brother has the right answer, at least for Data Center (I would assume that the Cloud boards behave the same way, but have no way of testing). I have tested this and it doesn't matter whether the work item has a Resolution or is in status that has a Status Category of Done.

All that matters is whether the work item is in a status that is mapped to the far-right column on your board. If that is the case, Jira considers the work item to be completed when the sprint is closed. Otherwise, it considers it to be open.
